I am thinking of creating a discussion forum concerning torrent site and torrent news in general, what I want to know is: So long as the forum doesn't have any links to any torrent sites/downloads would I be allowed to open such a forum.

A torrent is a hack or pirated software or something right?

I would say, personally, as long as you don't discuss how to obtain them as well as don' have a links to obtain/download them they should be fine. I don't see any problems in discussing them themselves and stuff along those lines. Its a gray line I suppose and is risky and based on each persons discretion as to what is allowable and what isn't.

Well, I suppose you could, but you should be aware that Buttercup is on vacation until November 12th, so you probably will be waiting until atleast that day before you receive an answer.

Even just discussion will be considered promoting it, so I would not have any discussion about torrents.

Its only to discuss the demise not to encourage or point to and downloads, there won't be any links allowed at all, so from that point of view no laws will be broken.

I would not take the chance.

I asked Pro-Boards as well and they were happy for me to use their system as it will not break their TOS but I would prefer to use Forumotion. Perhaps I will wait and see what Buttercup say's when she gets back. Thank you anyway for your advice.

That might take a little while since She's not due to return until about a week from now, meaning there's a chance your topic could be auto-pruned. Personally, I don't think there will be any problem so long as you're discussing and not posting illegal contents on the forum. If you want, I can ask another one of the pro-staff that's assiting us during Buttercup's absence for their view on this topic. That way you wont have to wait that long.
