    Solved Chatango Chat

Post by kvance November 15th 2015, 6:51 pm

I'm trying to embed this on my forum and for whatever reason I copy the code and put it as a new javascript page and it's not showing up. Is chatango not compatible with forumotion? Or is there a special way I need to tweak the script? Thanks to anyone that could help.

Is the code JavaScript or HTML?  Please post a link to where you got the code from.

Not sure which it'd be considered as it says <script></script>

I had gotten it from making the chat and then getting them embed code for the chatbox. Here's the coding.

    Code:
    <script id="cid0020000108613821550" data-cfasync="false" async src="//st.chatango.com/js/gz/emb.js" style="width: 500px;height: 405px;">{"handle":"xwlleague","arch":"js","styles":{"a":"000000","b":100,"c":"FFFFFF","d":"FFFFFF","k":"000000","l":"000000","m":"000000","n":"FFFFFF","p":"10","q":"000000","r":100,"fwtickm":1}}</script>

Tried putting in a javascript page and nothing showed up so I wasn't sure if it's an html or if it just isn't compatible.

    It is HTML.

Add it to a widget, homepage message, an announcement, etc.

So there's no way we could just put it at the bottom of the forum like our current chatbox? As that's what we'd like to be able to do is have the chat on the main forum page. If I can't do it with chatango do you know of any other chats that I could place on the bottom besides forumotions chat or a xat chatbox?

There is a way.  You will need to add it to a template.  Let me checkout something, and I will reply how.

    AP > Display > Template > General > index_body
Locate and Add Your Code Under:
    Code:
    {CHATBOX_BOTTOM)
Press save and make sure to publish the modified template.

Is there a way to move it down a bit lower so then it's not right against the whose online portion. If not then consider this solved.

Yes, add this right before the code:
    Code:
    <br />
It adds a line break.  If you want more space, add another one.
