I'm trying to edit a user's permissions so that they cannot post in any forums, however once I uncheck all of their permissions, it automatically gives it back to that user. And it's saying that the permissions have changed, but it's actually not changing. I'm using forum version Phpbb3. Also, I know the obvious way to do this would be just to delete that user from every usergroup he is in, but I want to try to avoid this. So help would be nice.

I believe there is not a way.

Just add on to what SLGray said, in order to change the permissions for any user in a group, you will either have to change the permissions for the entire group or remove that user from the group(s).
