Hello

I have an older lady who is confused as her email address is already registered but she does not remember doing so. I cannot find an approved member either with her name.

I can however confirm her identity and her email as being hers.

Is there a way to get this account re-set using just the email address?

So you can not locate the account with the email address?

Try resyncronizing your forum: ACP =>> General =>> Forum =>> Configuration. Tick the box beside "Resyncronize your forum". Or an alternative way is to delete her account and tell her to re-register.

let me get this right.

This member has never made an account on your forum until now and its saying that she is already A member ?

If yes you need to make sure her name is not in the Following settings

ACP >> Users & Groups >>   Users >> Inactive Users

if she is in there just tick the box next to her name and click Save.

Now she can log in.

If she is not in that setting you may want to change the next setting on your forum.

ACP >> General >>   Forum >> Security >>

Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. : set to NO

Did this error occur when she was trying to register? If so, try disabling the ' forbid subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam names'. To do this, go to ACP (Admin panel)--> General-->Security--> 'dis allow subscriptions with most commonly used spam usernames?', tick this to 'No' and save. Then ask the user to try registering again.
