Editing a Post, pain in the butt
Hi,
I've been test driving the functions of the free forum, and I've discovered that it's a pain in the butt to edit a post, I get a block of text like the following, no spaces and with that tags or whatever, which makes it pretty hard to go through...
An IP address of each poster is recorded in order to help us to make you respect these conditions.<br /><br />By agreeing on this terms:<br /><i>- You acknowledge to have fully read these current rules;<br />- You commit yourself to respect unreservedly these current rules;<br />- You grant the moderators of this forum the right to delete, move or edit any
This one doesn't work like that, though. When I edit a post, I don't lose the spaces and the tags are like this: [i]
How can I fix this?
Can I have WYSISYG?

Re: Editing a Post, pain in the butt
You can remove the italic tag([i]) by simply deleting it when you edit a post.
I think you mean WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get) no? You can activate that from admin panel=>General=>Configuration=>Configuration and look for this option "Activate the WYSIWYG" and choose Yes.

Re: Editing a Post, pain in the butt
Thanks Luky,
Sorry for the confusion. OK. My WYSIWYG option is activated, and when I try to edit a post, that block of text with the <br /><br /> is all that appears.
I can't actually see the bold font, as in, I can't see the final result in the text field, like I'd do in, lets say, Word. I just get this mass of text without spaces or anything, which is impossible to edit.
I can only see the final result when I hit preview, when I should be seeing it directly in the text field, no?
So why isn't WYSIWYG working properly? It doesn't work either in the Quick Reply field.

Right, in short, when I try to edit THIS post
http://theliberboards.heavenforum.org/forums-terms-of-service-and-rules-f3/forums-terms-of-service-and-rules-t1.htm
I get the following (WYSIWYG is activated but I don't see it working):
That can't be right...

Isn't that HTML coding?
Maybe you have html disabled for the posts?
Normally the coding that I am used to shows it in the [ ]'s. Such as this

If you are sure that HTML is enabled, try also to click this ( A/A ) button, which activates/deactivates the WYSIWYG mode for yourself.

Re: Editing a Post, pain in the butt
Hey guys thanks for your replies,
It's still pretty weird though, if I have the following settings:
Activate extended message editor YES
Activate the WYSIWYG mod by default in the posts NO
or
Activate extended message editor YES
Activate the WYSIWYG mod by default in the posts YES
I get this when I edit a post (and I don't see the WYSIWYG button anywhere):
With the settings
Activate extended message editor NO
Activate the WYSIWYG mod by default in the posts NO
I get what I was looking for, which is cool, but it doesn't make sense does it?
I also noted that my changes in the area "Modify your colors, Colors and text size" were reseted to the default just like that... The version I'm using is phpBB3 BTW.
Yikes, I wonder if I'm going nuts here or wat
