I can't move a post to another forum?

Can I do that? I just don't seem to find an option that allows me to move a post to the right category...

What to do if a user posts a message in the wrong forum?

It looks pretty bad if as an Admin I can't correct it...

Hello Godiva and ilovegreen . . .

I wrote this up for my mods, so they would know how to split a post from a topic and move it to the proper forum (in this case, the basket). I hope it helps.


How to Put Posts in the Basket?

1- Open a poet's topic

2- Quick mod tools:Scroll to bottom of the page and click on Quick mod tools

3- Split This Topic Click on Split This Topic(a new page will load)

4- New Topic Title Fill out the first field, like this:
. . . . RE:+original title . . . RE: Enjoy Your Stay!

5- Click on Forum for new topic - choose l--BASKET

6- large topic window Move to large topic window and tick the box/boxes of the posts you want to move . . . It will say:Select []

7- Split Selected Posts Click on Split Selected Posts

If you've been successful, a new page loads and you'll see this:
The selected topic has been split successfully

If not . . . do this: and try again!

Thanks, but I don't understand the difference between moving a post from one forum to another, and "split" a post.

I also don't understand what you mean by "topic".

A topic is the original posting by a member. All the replies or comments after that are postings'replies to a *Topic*, lol. I know that's hard . . . I'm sorry this is hard to understand.

Oh, your first post above is the *Topic* of this thread. That may help you to understand. So then I posted/replied back to your *topic*.

Question:

Are you trying to move the TOPIC (original posting) OR a reply to the TOPIC?

If you want to move a reply, then the Topic thread (the Topic plus all the posts combined) must be split. You would need to follow the steps I outlined above.

Is that better?

That's much better, yes I'm trying to move a topic noone has replied to yet. It's in the forum "All Others" when it belongs to "Lifestyle", here they are:

Okay . . . then go to the bottom of the Topic and look for Quick Mod Tools:



After you click on that, a new page will load and you will be give a menu: *Move to Forum*



Click on that and choose the forum you want to move the Topic to. Click YES to confirm!!

Not really hard once you get the hang of it . . .
