Post by cassini March 21st 2017, 11:50 pm

    Technical Details

    Forum version : #phpBB3
    Position : Founder
    Concerned browser(s) : Internet Explorer
Who the problem concerns : Yourself
    Forum link : https://cassinicaps.forumotion.co.uk/

    Description of problem

    Hello Smile

I am not sure you are aware of this but My Free Forums will be shutting down at the end of June 2017. This will effect most that have boards on there like I do.

How can I move a forum (I actually have three) to forumotion Question from another forum provider. I use My Free Forum as a closed board for Archives, I will have to create one or two closed boards for Archives.

Seeing that I have bought a SSL certificate all the links I have are http and not https. I would like some sound advice as I would like to save as much as I can as I have three months to do this.

    Regards

    Thanks Ape Smile

I have just registered with Forumotion with another board just setting up, I would need help moving the screencaps over using the image providers like Image Bam, Upix.me, Post image and Hotflick.

Unless I will have to do the more labourerous way of copy and save the up load using the Host an Image in the editor.

when you made the new forum did you click on the setting to say import your old forum ?

if yes it will ask you for the data from your ACP on that old forum otherwise we can not do nothing and it's all about moving it by hand otherwise Sad

Ok board is set up, another question that I need answered:
I have over 30,000 screen captures using Image Bam, Upix.me, ImgBox, HotFlick, Post Image all Image Uploaders all these are http.

I have tried this morning saving pictures and then uploading using Host an Image. This way is very slow and I have limited time, is it better to just copy and past the links and then change the board to HHTPS when I have finished. Question

The link to the archive forum is http://screencappingzone.forumotion.com/

So you are going to purchase the SSL certificate?  If yes, it would be best to upload the images to the image host for your forum.

Thanks SLGray, I will have to cut down the caps and use the Host an Image on forumotion. Yes I will buy a SSL Certificate in the next few days.
