Receiving death threats, and slurs from another forum owner.

We just recently started a new community for EA NHL fans, and we are now receiving death threats ands slurs from the owner of Link Removed which is a free forum through forumotion.

We will not respond to the threats, or the slurs, because we are not ones to engage that sort of idiocy. I would very much like to see some sort of action taken. We left their "community" because we didn't feel we should be paying the site owner $25 to play on a team. If it's even legal to take in money and give out prizes...

Not sure if I filled out the form correctly, was a bit confusing on whether I needed to link to the death threats on my forum from the owner of that forum. But I thank you for responding in a timely manner.

Ok.  So they posted that information on your forum?  You do not want to report your own forum.  You should just delete the information.  You could also ban the members who posted the information.

The problem is that its an owner from another forum. He created an account on our forum and made the posts. It'd be very easy to delete and ban him from our forum, but I believe he will just make a new account or have another person continue to make more posts. The content of the posts was very offensive, and I don't think someone like that should be allowed to keep a forum through forumotion. I am sure that if you matched the ip from the offending user to the owner of X1HL, they would most likely match.

You can only report a forum that is breaking the Terms of Service.  Since this is on your forum, you can control what is on it.

Drop down the 'contact' form in the ACP and seek for the IP he's using. Next, ban his IP, his @ mail etc. NEVER EVER react to the posts, just note down the IPs he's using and ban the lot. That mostly, in any of case, 'll teach 'm.

Well, one of the reasons why we left their site also was because they were forcing team owners to pay $25 to own a team. 32 teams have to pay and the "prize" is $250. Their is a 2nd "league" on the site that is $50 per team with over 10 teams. That would be the only thing I could think would breach forumotions ToS.

If the death threats don't count against a "REAL PERSON" and just his current account, than I will just delete and ban the account and await further threats.

To report a forum for threats, they have to be posted on that forum. If they create accounts on your forum, you can not report the members to Forumotion because you can control who and what is on your forum.

If you really believe your life is in danger, you should contact your local authorities.

*GIGGLES* Oh common', it's just a 14yo, I'm sure. Don't be scared. YOU'RE the admin, right? so act like an admin and ban 'm. Just don't say anything like threatening him. Let him do his act and come out his shell. If he really means what he says, and the threats are too real, just tell SLGray.
