View New Posts

Hello

I am not sure if this is a view new post issue or something else.

There are several members who use View New Posts including me. Often times, they will read new posts in a category, then when they click View New Posts again, there aren't any new posts. The only time this happens to me is if I haven't read all the new posts, log off, then log back on later, I loose the new posts I haven't read. Is there anyway to fix that?

I have asked them to clear history and cookies however it continues to happen. They don't recall when it started because I thought I'd check to see if I installed a new program at the same time.

Does anyone know if view new posts interferes with anything else and is there a way to keep the posts that haven't been read showing as unread even after you log off?

If you log off and log back, the new posts you did not read will not appear as new to you. This is normal.

@SLGray thanks I understand that, however is there a reason why when some members use view new posts, they see all the new posts. After reading a thread, they click view new posts again, and all the ones they didn't read are gone.

Is this happening to a certain device?

So far it appears to be Safari users. They have cleared their history and cookies however it still happens off and on without any reasoning.

I mean mobile devices, PC's, laptops, etc.

So far the ones that are having issues are laptops.
