Solved Problem with updating a member profile in the admin panel

Post by jkh March 18th 2018, 2:35 pm

    Good afternoon

I don't know whether this is a new forumotion thing or a problem with my account, but when I went in to the admin today to unban a member I wasn't able to do it because my own username overlays their email address - so if I click on 'unban' the member then the process won't save because my username is in one of the boxes (as shown) and it comes up with a message saying passwords don't match. Confused

This also means I can no longer make any changes in the 'Special admin-only fields'.

I also have this same problem in my test forum admin panel.

So how can I stop my username overlaying their email address as that might sort the problem out. This never used to happen.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

This is caused by the browser remmebering YOUR login info and then placing it over the user's while in admin panel. For some reason, certain browsers (firefox specificly sometimes) think when viewing the admin panel, that your viewing the login screen and it puts in your admin info. To prevent this issue, you either need to temporarily turn off saved passwords or remove them from the browser, while in the admin panel. The problem then stops.

While this is a bit of pain, there is nothing else you can do to prevent this from happening and there is nothing we can do on our end as well, cause it is an issue caused by the browser, not Forumotion itself.

    -Brandon
