A while ago one of my admins deleted an account instead of banning it. The members account then showed as Guest on all their posts and seemed to disapear. Now an undetectable account called Guest is making new posts. No info is available , they do not appear in member search or deleted or inactive accounts. Please help .
im not sure how or why this is happening, i just know the account was either deleted or de activated or someone has since signed up as "Guest" and it has caused issues.

I dont have guests allowed to post.
Yes i have clicked their ip from the post, this is the only info available. It gives all ip info for the member that was deleted , possibly what is going on too is people deleting themselves and becoming "Guest", adding their post and ip info to the ghost "Guest". Its puzzling. A member was deleted on the day of last post by "guest".

I dont think it is the same person as the member that should have been banned before deleting(or whatever happened)

edit : so now i dont think this is a case of the "guest" profile making new posts ! (phew) , it is deleted accounts having their stats accumulate on the "Guest" profile ,which is confusing.
Is there a way to "reset" the guest profile , because of the mistake that was made by admin it looks like the guest is someone we dont want on our forum which could continue to cause problems for our admin.

edit: this brings another question, how can a member delete themselves ? Ive had a look on my own profile and cant find any such option.

They probably are deleting themselves for some reason. There is an option in the profile unless you or another admin disable it (even then there are ways to delete the account if a user truly wants).

If your viewing the forum in the founder account it will not appear, as the founder account can not be deleted or banned or anything without deleting the entire forum. It is the only account on the entire forum that can never be deleted or banned.

thanks , where is the option to allow deletion? is it "allow unsubscribe"

Also there is a way to unsubscribe from forums if the administrators do not allow you the option on the forum.

Type this into Google:  Forumotion Unsubscribe

ok , i have put it not to allow, hopefully our members will ask admin instead of just doing away with themselves.
