Members deleted their own accounts when disallowed in AP

I have recently had 2 members delete their own accounts from my forum, despite having it set in the AP that they cannot do this. I have searched and found the 'unscribe' post so am assuming these members used this feature to delete their accounts.

My question is, why have it as an option in the AP to disallow members to delete their own accounts when they can just come here and do it anyway. We always delete accounts when members request it, but we do need to know, so is there a way to disallow members to use the unscribe feature here.

Sadly you can not stop a member from using the unsubscribe feature / ink, By law you can not stop a member from leaving a forum or site.

There is another way to delete an account if a member were to search for it. As Ape said, legally speaking we can not stop members from deleting their accounts and so we provide an alternate link for people to be able to do so. We do not advertise this link anywhere and people will only find this link if they either search for it on here or a search engine, or come here and ask us for it.
