    Forum link : http://prettyuglylittleliar.forumotion.com

    Description of problem

    To whom this may concern,

I thoroughly apologize if this has come up before and perhaps there's no solution - but I thought I would give it a shot. I just created my forum a month or so ago, some of my first members were encountering issues where they were being told their usernames were taken on my forum, when that was clearly not the case. I haven't been able to find how to fix this issue and was unsure if this is a registration bug due to site host and the system picking up usernames outside of my domain, thus telling my members their picked username was taken.. or? I was only able to fix this by setting up a thread for username changes and going in and changing to the chosen username via that way. Hopefully there's a better solution?

I thank you very much for your time and apologize for any inconveniences,

    Birdy/Hera

    AP > General > Forum > Security
    Username with ......
What is that option set to?

Also are there any accounts here:  AP > User & Groups > Users > Inactive List?

    Thanks for your prompt response!

I want to be sure I selected the right thing, as I'm unsure about the "Username with .." and cannot see it.
    Spoiler:

It is showing users in the inactive tab, "New users," and "Users with no messages."
    Spoiler:

    I hope this helps!

    Hello

    General>Forum>Security
Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. : no
    save.

The inactive list shows the new users that have not activated their accounts , you must do it manually

Okay! Thank you, I changed it. Is this what was giving the "username is already taken" error?
