Cant access forum

So i accidentally redirected the default forumotion address to the custom domain name before renewing the domain name, and now i cant access the forum to get to the admin panel to change it back! What do i do?

Have you tried removing the redirect in Admin panel --> General --> Forum --> Forum Address --> Personalized domain name --> Force the URL redirection : No.

Nevermind it didnt work, i tried to backup the forum but it still redirects to the same dead link, and i cant access the General tab to force the redirect to stop.

You can access the admin panel of your forum and stop the redirect using the utilities Ape linked you to. There is a link that will give you direct access to the admin panel even if you can not access the forum itself.

Correct and i have but when i click on the General tab it redirects to the address im trying to change. The home, general, and misc tab all redirect to the address while the rest of the tabs i can access, i dont understand.

What is the free url of your forum? I can put in a ticket asking head office to manually stop the redirection, but it won't get viewed until Monday at the earliest due them not working weekends.

Try clearing your cache and cookies and see if that let's you access the forum.

Hello,

You need to delete your browsing data because the redirect has been cached by your web browser. You can therefore continue to see the redirect when it is no longer active if you do not empty your browsing history.

Thank you everyone, it now works. One last question, how long would it take to retrieve that personalized domain name since i didnt renew in time and it says its not available?

Unfortunately we no longer have access to your domain : the domain expired on 19 sep. You will have to wait a while (sometimes up to 2 months) before Godaddy puts the domain back on the public market. It is now up to you to monitor when the domain becomes available again and to acquire it again through your administration panel.

If the domain name is no longer available it could be already used by some one else or if you are lucky we may still have it on our servers.

If it's used by some other site then sadly we have no power over it.
If no one else has it yet and it's in our hands still we can ask our head office to re-add it to your forum from our end.

when was you meant to renew your domain (How long ago )
What is your forum address?
What is the URL / Domain you want?
Do you have the credits for us to take to renew your domain name if we have it still ?

I think you did not see my message posted just few minutes before the yours, but we can not renew the domain and it is not on our servers.

It is not used by someone else, but the domain is blocked by Godaddy for some time, before to return to public market. That's why @GM B-Body Forum, you have to monitor if the domain is still not available (OR, if you miss it finally, already not available) and try to get it as soon as it reappears for purchasing.

Thanks guys, it expired about 2 months ago, ill just have to wait for it!

As there is nothing else we can do to help until GoDaddy put your domain up for sale again I will close this topic.
