Cannot Purchase Old Domain Name

Hi, I've had the advanced package + domain name before. However, they expired in December and I was not able to renew them. Today I purchased credits and renewed the package, however, I was unable to renew my domain name. It says that it's not available, GoDaddy lists it as a premium domain name for some reason (still available though). I believe it's highly unlikely that someone would purchase that name. Is it possible that because of that fact that I used to have that domain name, it's now reserved and I am just in some transition period? I've noticed that there's a delay between payments and things showing up on the system. Thank you kindly. My forum is https://makemysimsreal.forumotion.com/

What is th e domain name you want?

I can't see the domain name being in our hands still sadly it has been to long BUT if you give us the URL of the domain name you want we could ask our head office but I must say I think its a long shot.

I believe it might  be already used.  Have you tried entering it in your browser?   I tried it, but I get an  unsecure message.

No one buys or owns a custom domain name.
Domain names can only be leased. What you pay to get a personalized address is rent. You are a tenant, not an owner. If you stop paying the annual fee (rent), the domain is leased to someone else. First come, first served.
And obviously, it's what happened at the beginning of February 2021.
The new tenant is a broker, that kind of company takes control of domains freshly expired at the price of the market (10/15 USD each domain) and tries to sell them at a much better price.

2 options now :
- You are ok to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to get back "your" domain. And you still wont be able to really link it to your forum because you can only create a CNAME with an external domain name. Coming from makemysimsreal.forumotion.com won't redirect to domain name because only domains "bought" with Forumotion allow us to force the redirect to the custom domain name.

The domain name gets reserved only ten days after the expiration date (grace period)

Please note once a domain enters in redemption period, it cannot be renewed with Forumotion.

- You're not OK and take another domain name for example with .org or .net TLD's

looking at the domain name makemysimsreal.com it is not ready to be took by anyone yet.
If you had this domain name makemysimsreal.com on your forum before it maybe we still have it on our system but as it was the start / end of the year I can't see it being on our system anymore. I will make a ticket to our head office to ask if we still have it or not. Sadly I think it's to late but we may be lucky.

Dear @Aileena sadly I got a reply back from our head office and the domain you wanted back is no longer in our hands and Sadly there is no way to get the address back for your forum.

My advice is to buy a new address almost the same as you had before and then make sure you keep an eye on your ACP for a notice of when your domain address runs out and renew it at least 25 days before it runs out to make sure you keep the address.
