Hi , I'm thinking about the purchase of a domain name...amd I have looked through heaps of posts on this issue..
But as we all run different browsers , computers etc, it seems to differ a fair bit with people.
As you know I use safari, on iPad 3....I've not yet purchased a domain name yet but the one im thinking about is available in the menu in my Misc section of my forum that seems to be a forumotion domain name.
Upon reading the installation process of a domain name , it does seem fairly complicated , which is the only thing putting me off as I do want to buy one...but can't the installation all be done on the Misc - modify domain name section of my forum?..or would I also need to register this domain name somewhere else too as others have had to?
Im sorry for sounding dumb but I just don't quite understand much of the domain name installation stuff , especially running in safari with an iPad.
I would like to think I can just change my address from
http://depmodomdcure6135.forumotion.co.uk - this address is just way too long...
To the one I want via the Misc - domain name modify without going through a heap of complications elsewhere , can't it all be done via my control panel in the purchase domain name section after I buy a new domain?
I have read many posts on this as I said, but this seems to differ a fair bit depending on what equipment and browser everyone is using..amd to let you know just how unsavory I am, I can barely understand what a sub domain is! ...
Like a second domain name or something?
I'm really that dumb with all this , there no other way to say it.
I appreciate advice on this in the clearest & simplest baby words that you can help with.
And I really do appreciate any help on this as I think if I needed to go outwith forumotion to install a new domain name l then I would probably be beaten already.
Thanks very much for understanding someone not very bright on these issues , while I like having a forum and can do certain things , I won't ever be near as savvy as some on here ..and to think those who are PC savvy are only half my age. :oopas
If i can possibly understand how to to this with as little complication as possibe, I might just be able to do it, but even that's a big ask, I'm just a very basics PC lad...and am looking to buy one if these names tomorrow.
Cheers so much folks.
