How to give a user a warning

On my forum, I was wondering if there is way to give a warning to user?

Or is it only banned?

Do I have to private message user and simply tell them not break the rules?

you can ban the member for some days only

if you go to the admin panel..to the profile member you want.... from the users and groups tab
and scroll down you will see this option (click the word banned to appear)

if your member is breaking the rules my advice is maybe make a warning system like we have here on the support forum where we have a bar and Admin's and mods have the right to make the bar down when we give a warning.

Now we warn on the problem page then make a note on the profiles if the member keeps breaking the rules we ban them when the bar hit 0
