Description of problem

I am simply looking to change the settings of my site so that it is only possible to give positive votes or 'thumbs up' to messages.

Hello,

This can be done quite easily. Simply go to ACP (Admin Panel)--> General-->Messages & E-Mails-->Configuration--> Likes--> Allow Likes and Dislikes : Tick the radio button for 'Only Likes' and click save.
