Domain name Retrieval

Hello I am the owner of https://rpgdragons.forumotion.com/ though I've run it under the domain name of rpgdragons.org for most of it's 8 year lifespan thus far. I was away for some time taking care of some life emergencies and trusted the management of the site to my staff who kept forgetting to tell me the domain name was expiring until it was too late. Which I don't understand why it doesn't auto renew I have enough credits for 2 years worth sitting around waiting to be used just for that. But I digress. I tried to relaunch the domain and it said it was taken I presume by me earlier since typing it in sends you to godaddy and not any site. Is there anyway I can recover the domain? Without it my site is functionally dead and has no future.

I have asked the head office to look in to re adding your domain address rpgdragons.org is this address you wanted ?

Hello @AstralTwilight To much time passed since the domain has expired.
you will have to hold on for Godaddy to let the domain go back on sale.

Sadly there is nothing we can do to help until then.

My advice is to make sure you keep on top of your forum domain address at all times you get a warning on the ACP as founder about 30 days before the time is up to renew it every year.

Indeed, we do not offer automatic renewal on the platform to avoid forgetting and complaint issues (because many will forget that there is automatic renewal in 1 year).

Similarly, we send alerts to all forum administrators to warn them.

In your case and as explained by @APE, unfortunately we cannot do anything more because the deadline has expired.
