disappearing user :(

Hello, I have problem with my forum: https://www.morsmordre.net/

Today we noticed that one of our users does not exist. Both his account and all his posts have disappeared. No one deleted his account or his posts. I looked at the logs (available through the "security" tab) and there is nothing about it there.

Is there anything that can be done to restore his account and his posts?

His nickname was Finnegan Fenwick

If yes could it be they have removed them self from your forum and the name of that user is now down as guest ?

No, it was a relatively new account. There weren't many posts, but this is a forum for writers, so they were long and important

Normal user does not have the permission to delete their account on my forum. He didn't do it, he wrote to me with this problem.

Can you please just look at one more thing before i report this to our head office.

Can you please log in to your ACP (Admin Control Panel) and head to

Users & Groups Tab >> Inactive users / see if the members name is listed there.

Then if not listed there can you please look in the following.

ACP >> Users & Groups Tab >> Users management / type the members name in the box and press ok

If the members name don't come up we could try a backup.

There is nothing there. There is no login in the inactive list, and the search results show that the user does not exist.

okay you could try a backup using your Forum Utilities

We can try and backup just the member and the posts.



you might want to ask the member when was the last time they logged in so you can pick the date for backup.

thank you very much! but... should this work with founder account password? because it doesn't. I am sure that I am entering the correct and current password. I asked my co-admin to try and he also failed.

I think my forum is older than this tool. Could this be the reason?

Hi @Iszke the tool works for all forums hosted by us no matter the age.

you add your Email address at the top then you add your password you used to make the forum with.

If you have made a change to your password then this could be the reason you having problems.

Only the owner / founder can use the tools.

If you want please PM me the URL and Email address you used to make the forum with and i can reset the password for you on that tool.
