Is there a way to set a default rank for a group?

I was wondering if there is a way to set a default rank / rank image for a user group, or for people that register. For example, if I have the group "Registered users" can I make it so that as soon as someone registers, there rank is changed to the default rank that I will make it?

Ok, here's what i mean that makes a little bit more sense:

Is it possible to make it so that as soon as I add a user to the group GFX, that their rank is changed to "GFX"? Or is there no such thing as making a rank default for a group.

Edit: I just noticed my rank was "Forumotion member" and I don't think an admin could change it to that that fast..

I´m sorry but that isn´t possible, because rankings and groups are two totally different things....
The only thing you could do is set an avatar which is used for new members that didn´t´t write a post until now, but I think that´s not really what you want to do....

But my question is, how did my rank turn to Forumotion member without an admin doing anything to it?

"Normal" ranks change automatically when a member wrote an certain number of posts, but the rank you want to give is a Special Rank, which does not depend on the number of posts written by the member, and Special Ranks can only be given and changed by an admin.

Oh hahah now I remember!

I had a very old site and I had about 50 ranks that would change every time a user got 100 posts.
