Highlight problems! Empty Highlight problems!

Im having a problem with the colour when people register and go on the profile to edit.
My background is black on the forum. However when you go to register or edit your profile, the text seems to dissapear (because its black when filling in fields). How do i change the colour of the text that highlights into black?
