Number of Messages in a topic

Hi, I have a question. I read somewhere that you can only have 990 messages per topic before it's locked and split. Is there anyway to change this?

This is a huge deal for my board as my last topic had 200,000 posts in one thread. If it got locked and split every few days, that would definately confuse people.

Suggestions anyone?

unfortunately to preserve the servers it's necessary to fix a limit for each topic, and there is no way for changing it i'm afraid.

Create a forum for that one thread. When it is split you can put all the threads in the one forum.

And yea, Corrosion I have that already, it''s just that my members are tearing through the posting too fast! I will just have to label them differently!

Just a point of reference, it's still letting me post in the old thread, even though we are past 1000 posts. Weird.
