i dont like report abuse thing

im pissed off frm report abuse feature... i dont know y forumtion has installed this ??????????? its sick. suppose if any lamer reports abuse just like that thn wat ( revenge ) ??? admin dont get much time to check abuse . thn wat later v come to know that forum is del. ***.. i also dont see any point of having this feature ... i live in free country n im free to do / post anything i wish as in rules of my site .. be it porn or warez or anything.. if guys hav made site n handling 1000 users that doesnt mean they r kids n cant post adult or crack anything like that in forums.. they hav right to post anything.. unless not considered spam / offence .

i also wana know if some1 reports abuse like that only cant we see his name ?? can guest also report abuse or its members who report abuse only ?? why cant we see there name or post ?? and tell me if i hav to remove this sick thing wat to do ?

or else wat will hapn later those lamer who spam in site n i ban them will later report abuse like that only.. n give more work to admins ..

I like the feature. I reward users who report violations and take action against the reporters who report non-violation material. It helps the moderators and the administrators a lot.

I feel it is required for not only eliminating spam, but for Health and Safety reasons too. I don't want young minds (ie, 13, 14 year olds) exposed to pornography, illegal material (eg. Drugs), Suicide etc. It's not mentally healthy.

If you don't the feature, then simply disable it.

To disable the Report Abuse Feature:

Admin Panel > General > Reports > Report Status > Disabled > Save

DONE. Your users can no longer report posts.

I am in agreement with you then. I just looked and I had a report for "Sexual and/or pornographic content". I have a Media Forum. There is no pornography or sexual content on it.

If there is nothing on your site that shouldn't be, you have no need to worry. I'm founder of my site, and am on it regularly to check whats going on. The founder is responsible for the contents of their forum, so should therefore make sure they have the time (or assign others the task) to check the content regularly.

I understand what you are saying about ppl who may report you just for revenge, but there has to be some sort of help for people who genuinely have concerns about a site.

if you haven't got anything dodgy on your forum and some lamer reported you wont have a problem because the person who checks out the report out will not find anything so i cant see a problem with the report

then you will then select the user not to use that feature. Hope i helped

have you read the rules? follow them and if someone reports your forum and you know there nothing that breaks the rules on your forum then you dont have to worry about anything at all. it's not hard to understand just common sense

if you haven't got time to look after your forum it's time to delete it or get more staff on your forum easy.......

they not just going to deleted a forum because some1 says it as this on it or that on it they going have to check it out and if it as that thing on it then the forum will be deleted if it as not then it wont be deleted.

Actually our staff has the same concerns about the abuse report feature. We are not sure if the occasional swear word would get us deleted. The first day we formed, someone complained about us. We believe in freedom of speach, but not spamming, or promoting criminal activity or porn. All of us have read forumotion's rules, but they are vague enough to be open to interpretation. This has caused some serious consternation at my forum.

We think the complaint was out of spite, as we formed as a refuge from some forum wars.

I am not sure how the report abuses tab to forumotion helps us. I too would like to remove it if possible. We do have procedures in place for people to speak with moderators or admins if they have a problem and we try to be objective.

It would be nice to know who complains about us, so we can ask the person what the problem was and correct it if necessary. If unregistered guest can also complain, then there is the potential for great mischeif.

you can see if someone as reported your forum and then you can deleted the post or whatever before anyone looks at your site.

How can you be possibly complaining regarding your content? of course you receive tons of abuses.
Games, movies, music under copyright, hacking tools and so on...Don't be surprised if your forum gets deleted soon.

That is from the TOS that you agreed to. Typlo will delete your forum, so you can either remove the content that breaks the TOS or see your forum disappear. Also, I seem to remember something about yahoo and google and other places like that being upset when we use their names as part of our site names, so I wonder if your site name is even legit.
