vip sec only for vip

hi.. i want to ask as how can i make sec such that only my sites vips can view .. n not other members.. ?? how can it b possible ? i heard somewhere that u need to buy points ?? is it so ? if not plz tell Very Happy

No points are required for this. Follow the following tutorial created by myself.

STEP ONE
Make sure you have a group set up for VIP's. If not follow these steps:

Admin Panel > Users & Groups > Groups > Create new group > Group Name - VIP's > Group Description - Forum VIP's > Group Moderator - Pick a user > Choose a color > Color Group Members - Yes > Group Status - Closed Group > Save

then...

Admin Panel > Users & Groups > Groups > VIP's Permissions > Find the VIP Forum > Check (tick) Allowed Access > Save

STEP TWO

To create the VIP Forum, follow these steps:

Admin Panel > Forum > Permissions > Select the Forum(s) > Permissions Tab > Advanced View

then... This is where it is crucial to get it right. Check (tick) the following boxes only:

Guest: View the Forum
Members: View the Forum
VIP's: Entire Row
**Scroll Down to next set of Permissions**
VIP's: Open a Topic, Create a Poll

Set your moderators to do what they like. Treat them like VIP's, but make sure they can moderate.

> Save

Now you can add members to your VIP group and they should have access to the VIP Forum, but standard members can see it, but not have access to it.

i wana ask.. when i made this vip sec.. and when i logged out frm forum.. i saw vip sec only ..(as guest- only categ topic ).. is it like guest can see vip sec (topics only)???? ,, {not posts} ..

Guests can see the forum, however, they do not have access to it.

ya but .. see only vip sec ??? not other sec.. ? earlier it was like as guest u cant hav access to portal(forum) even... u hav to reg then acess to it..

Can you not use the word "sec"? It gets confusing. Use 'forum' or category'. That way I have a better understanding of what exactly you are saying.

We haven't discussed other forums other than the VIP forum. I have no idea what you are talking about.

well i said vip section / vip zone . or more better as vip category.. what is now happening is when a user logs out he gets to see vip categ. (only topics ) and not other sections in portal ** as guests ** cant it be like .when he logs out . he cant see any categ in forum as guests as i dont guests to view portal ( forum )

I just went to your forum and I cannot see any VIP Forum. If you have one and don't want guests to view it...

Admin Panel > Forum > Permissions > Select the Forum(s) > Permissions Tab > Advanced View

Guests: Uncheck the View Forum
