internet explorer keeps you happy for while you are using it but once you do a virus scan and you see how much viruses you actually got you turn to fire fox which is basically virus free

Another thing Firefox has, and IE doesn't : Many add-ons

You can add many add-ons to Firefox, in order to fit your needs. For example, you have add-ons to block ads and scripts (when you are fed up of ads) such as Ad-block and Noscript. For web developers, you have an addon who add you a web developer toolbar where you can have many tools who helps you in your Web development (CSS, validation, accessibility, etc.), and you have another addon who allows you to open a page with IE browser under a Firefox tab.

For more add-ons, you can go to Mozilla's addons page.

And finally : When a Web page has font sizes formatted in fixed sizes (px) and you find them too small, IE doesn't zoom them while FF zooms them, and FF even gives you the choice of setting a minimal font size ! That's what I hated in IE, especially when you aren't at your computer and the resolution is set to max (very small fonts).

    I feel really confused
I have IE6 I was too scaredy cat even to go up to seven. I have used Norton ever since I had the internet, because it was the only one I had heard about.
I have never had a virus, though had a few warnings that there had been attacks that had been dealt with by Norton, trogons and worms, no idea what they are, but they were stopped anyway.
I have clicked on a few dodgy sites, purely through being naive about the net. I now have a thing that warns me about sites on a browser page before I click them.
My Norton is due to run out in August. I may see what else is available if you all reckon Norton is no good.
    Have posted a new topic about spyware etc;

IE is great, i have used various versions for around 4 years wth never a problem.

I downloaded firefox once on my brothers advice and found it annoying, slow to load pages and display pictures, thats if it actually did show them. I probably could have worked out why it was like that and sorted it on my pc..but frankly couldnt be bothered, went back to tried and trusted IE Smile

I abandoned IE because I got many problems with it : two hijacks, viruses, spywares. And I'm not as noob as my father !
Since I abandoned IE, my number of viruses has sharply decreased, and I even don't catch anything anymore since I migrated from Windows to Linux.

More than one year ago, we had many complaints about Imageshack's ads on Forumotion's French support forum. If someone tried to view a pic on an Imageshack page with IE, he mostly got a virus or an annoying prompt from these ads ! So, needless to go to a porn website to catch these stuffs.

Another thing : Firefox and any browser using the Gecko backend to render Web pages (K-Meleon, Flock, Seamonkey, etc.) are much more respectful to the W3C standards than IE. And they're all opensource.
In Newbies Paradise's XHTML/CSS tutorials, it is advised to build your Web pages according to these browsers, before thinking of making it IE-compatible.

And Internet Explorer Blocks millions of viruses for me.

With firefox i always had trouble plus, with firefox the graphics are bad.

    Firefox is 100% Rubbish.

Notice: I have have a desktop that was made in 2002 and i used internet explorer the whole time and barely got viruses.
