New accounts automatically activating in error......help!! Empty New accounts automatically activating in error......help!!

I had two email notifications today, one saying that a new user had registered, which required admin activation. A few hours later, another email saying a new user had registered, which had been automatically activated. It was the same user as before, who after investigation had only attempted to register once, but the account had automatically activated a few hours after initial registration?

I have raised a similar query before, as my settings on the forum administration panel are that all new users require admin activation, but since the new admin update, this does not always happen, and the situation is getting worse.

ok, i have just had another user bypass the system, i am getting two emails as above, and need this sorting out as trolls are bypassing our security procedure and accessing the forum.

Are tech guys able to look at this as a matter of urgency, all registrations are now manually activating without our consent as we have settings on admin panel that new users are activated by admin?

go to: admin panel>users&groups>user options>and where it says new accounts activation change that to Admin and save:D hope that helps!

It is already on the setting 'admin' to activate accounts. It always has been, and have only had problems since the new admin panel update. I am thinking I may need to block all members until resolved, as new members are now automatically activated without admin intervention.
