Access to the Database Empty Access to the Database

Post by rob_c July 12th 2008, 12:35 am

I've seen a posting that said direct access can be gained to the DB using some tool such as phpmyadmin. We're in the midst of a major restructuring and would benefit greatly from direct access to the DB, how can this be achieved? I don't need to download it or copy it or anything of the sort, I would just like to

1st: Back it up (And I understand this backup cannot be downloaded)
2nd: Browse and edit the table(s) directly (Preferably with SQL).

Thanks,
Rob

OK, Is there DB access with a domain purchased through Forummotion? As a test, I installed the phpbb software on my own personal domain and can browse the DB (MySQL) using phpmyadmin just fine...it's a pretty basic DB compared to what I'm used to seeing.

hmmm too bad. So other than the name, there's no "real" advantage to purchasing a domain then.
