Hello, I noticed when using Internet Explorer the "Jump to:" box ( drop menu where you jump to another forum) border color doesn't show and it seems to be some sort of default white color shade, but when using FireFox the border color is showing the assigned correct color in the CSS file which is a aqua color.

Is there a extra line of code I could add to the CSS file so IE can read it?

    Thanks

Welcome to the wonderful world of Microsoft. IE does not comply with international CSS2 conventions, and requires "IE Hacks" to get a lot of items to display properly. This requires quite a bit of CSS experience to figure out, and I'm not sure anyone on forumotion has that experience with CSS.

If you provide a link to your forum I can take a look at it if you explain better (or a screenshot) exactly what border you're talking about, I can try to figure it out.

This is why I don't program my websites for IE!

Well, when making websites I always consider what the page looks like on IE becuase its the most used browser, and consequently its what most of your visitors will be using, I on the other hand use Firefox exclusively, but I check all my work on IE as well.

It would appear that the moderators here know quite a bit about CSS as I have have several complex questions answered by them before. But thanks for offering to take a look at my forum, but I think I'll wait to see what one of the moderators say first.

    thanks again.

"Most used browser" because it's bundled with Winblows. Most power users or knowledgeable users use Firefox. Even design experts don't bother coding all the IE hacks anymore. Try reading the forums at Sitepoint.com, where some of the top CSS designers in the world hang out and see.

But hey - it's up to you. Doesn't matter to me at all...

Most computer users and visitors of websites are not "power users" or "design experts" and they use IE, thus my interest in a code that will work for IE.

    thanks

I don't just think so, I know so. The average user tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes pre-installed with Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers.

Since my site is not targeting (as most aren't) "power users" or "design experts" I realize most of my site visitors are using IE, as most of the population does.
