Message once a member is banned Empty Message once a member is banned

    Hello,

When a member is banned and they log in, a message appears saying "You've been banned from this forum". Instead of that message, would you like the ability to customize the message?

You see, on my forum I also hand out suspensions, so having a message saying "You've been suspended for X days" would be helpful.

So is this a good idea?

    Sounds wonderful.

That doesn't demoralize members as much as hearing "You've been banned - Never come back" or whatever.

So yes, the ability to modify the message would be great Wink

I am going to vote yes on this suggestion. I think that the default message is pretty boring. I would like to be able to customize the message for each IP.

For example, a member is banned for spamming. The IP is banned, and a custom message is displayed saying why they are banned and for how long if it is temporary. A second member is banned for disrespect. Another custom message is displayed saying they are banned for disrespectful behavior. etc.

I just need some feedback on these messages. If there's something I should add, correct, or take away, feel free to let me know. Smile

For each account, the message will display differently from the default message. Shown here is how the message will display if a member with 25 infractions attempts to access the forums.

    Dear 7th Generation Member,

Your account has exceeded an amount of infractions due to recent offences that you have committed.

You currently have 25/100 infractions, and your account is in the green zone. Your account may have accumulated a small number of offences to implicate a suspension.

You’ve been suspended for 7 days.

Shown here is how the message will display if a member with 50 infractions attempts to access the forums.

    Dear 7th Generation Member,

Your account has exceeded an amount of infractions due to recent offences that you have committed.

Your currently have 50/100 infractions, and your account is in the yellow zone. The yellow zone indicates there are some infractions on your account, which do not warrant a ban as of yet. You should be careful not to acquire more.

You’ve been suspended for 14 days.

Shown here is how the message will display if a member with 75 infractions attempts to access the forums.

    Dear 7th Generation Member,

Your account has exceeded an amount of infractions due to recent offences that you have committed.

You currently have 75/100 infractions, and your account is in the orange zone. The orange zone indicates that you have a dangerous amount of infractions on your account.

You’ve been suspended for 21 days.

Shown here is how the message will display if a member with 100 infractions attempts to access the forums.

    Dear 7th Generation Member,

Your account has exceeded an amount of infractions due to recent offences that you have committed.

You currently have 100/100 infractions, and your account is in the red zone. The red zone indicates that you have a dangerous amount of infractions and that any further offences could result in a permanent ban.

    You’ve been permanently banned.

So does anybody think I should use these messages for each account in the event that this suggestion is fulfilled?

    Thanks.
