moderators permissions

I have tried to adjust the permissions of my moderators so that they are only moderators of certain sections of the forums rather than the whole lot. When i edit the user permissions and click save it immediately re checks all the boxes and allows them access to all areas again.....what is wrong?

I have also tried this with group permissions to block certain groups from certain areas but the same thing happens

I could really use some help with this urgently I will be on holiday in a few days and I would like to ensure that no one person can wipe the whole forum while im away, not that I think anyone would but always better safe than sorry

anyone have any idea why this wont work?

Hi, I find putting "HELP!" in the title tends to get a response! Sorry I can't help with your query - I'm new myself.

You shouldn't have to put HELP in the title - this is a help forum. But ELITECASUAL, I too have experienced the same problem. I don't know what the answer is - but I don't think it is supposed to do that . . . another glitch, I suppose.

I had this problem too, all i did was stop the group from being moderating a forum and just have the member as moderator then add them to the group and it should keep them as a mod of just that room.

yes this seems to be a problem with the forums. hopefully the techs will fix it soon.
