Link to PDF file? Empty Link to PDF file?

Newbie question...
I would like to put a link, in an Announcement topic, to a PDF file saved on the forum site in a LinkFiles directory. ie public_html/LinkFiles/example.pdf
Is that possible? And what is the exact syntax please?

no. there are no uploading or storing files on your forumotion site. try uploading it to a 3d party site and then adding a link to the upload.
