Would you like the choice to add Different Levels of access or restricted access to the Admin Panel?
Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
First topic message reminder :
I trust some people to do as i tell them, provided there isn't anything they can mess with and break so when i want a certain person to create a forum for me when i'm busy it can only be an admin instead of a mod,
There should be maybe two or three different settable access levels to the administrator panel
I.E
Level One: They can see the stats and add/remove forum sections
Level Two: They have Level One access however can update user profiles as well
Level Three: Full access
This would mean that there would be less chance of someone kicking or banning you from your own forum,
You can still have admins and mods who can access the admin panel but because you can set restricted access they can do less real damage
A straight YES or NO question!
Regards
Craig

Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
No there is not. The founder can see only two more categories than a regular admin can.ECarminan15 wrote:Isn't there something like "Basic" and "Advance" levels? So yeah.... voted no.
Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
I think having this feature and being able to have mutiple admin groups would go hand in hand
Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
too bad that this was not included in the update.

Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
blogs are a whole different thing than forums, therefor they may have some features that we do not have.

hey
do you really understand what is the purpose of the post and the difference between basic and advanced levels?
1.This post is for the different levels of access to forum admin panel, say for example, I want some of my members be promoted and I want one of them to help me in the setting of the forums, another one deal with the ranks and permissions, I think many admins don't want their friends be a admin which can almost set all the things, also, this may also lead to some conflicts in the forum administration
2.Basic and Advanced level is the showing of necessary setting or further detailed setting, once a member become an admin, he can choose Basic or Advanced level all the time, it is base on the admin's preference! That means nothing special, "Basic" is only for idiots!

Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
Yeah, voted yes.
I want this so i can have admins but they can't do real damage, like deleting forum's and members.
I want them to help manage members, but not be able to delete there accounts.

Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
Sigh, It does not look like they are working on this.
I wanted this so badly for my forum so i could add admins without worrying that they
were going to delete my members or forums.
Now what am I going to do?

Normally only the founder can edit his own account.
It seems I am mistaken
Well it will be a great feature!

Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
I finally found this
Id love to see this suggestion, it would help some forums with separation of admins; as in things like "community Admin"
Yes vote!

Re: Different Levels of access to the Admin panel
Yes definitely!! It could mean moderators could take on more admin tasks but without them being able to access everything.
