"First Unread Post"

On another forum, at the top of the thread, you can jump to the first unread post. This is great for keeping up with long threads. The "Last Post" link on this forum is useful, but being able to go to the first unread post is much more helpful. Is it possible to do/have this on these forums?

But the first unread post lets you quickly go to the earliest post that you have not yet read. This is especially helpful with topics that have many posts and cover many pages. The unanswered post just lets you see topics that have not been replied to yet, which is not what I want.

I agree it would be nice to have this.

Ummmm, excuse me if I'm misunderstanding what you want, but at the top of the forum on the index page is a link to View all New Posts.
Isn't that what you want?
I'm assuming here that our forums are basically the same.

When you View all New Posts, another page loads and at the beginning of each thread line, there should be a little folder icon next to whoever started the thread and that takes you to the last post you read.

No, actually, there is "View posts since last visit", which is great, but if the topic that has a new post is several pages long, you have to jump to the last page and then scroll to the first unread post (of course that is assuming that the first unread post is not on the previous page.

With this functionality, once you get to the topic with the new post, you click "First unread post", and you jump to the post where ever it is. This is great when you are trying to keep up with what is going on as quickly as possible.

The icon you mentioned, just takes you to the latest post, not the first unread post.
