Online in posting profile? Empty Online in posting profile?

Is it possible for all forums to show who is online with an "online" ribbon on their profile when they post? I know some forums have like forumotion, others don't. I heard that it is built into the template and it comes with the skin. Why is that and is it possible to get it for my forum?
