How to change XP to vista

Hi all there
I wanna discuss about how to change vista into XP
you see we have heard that vista is bad, i mean not matchable to XP in terms of reliability and performance! And most of us don't really have money to buy it also
so i did a quiet research on net and after a few weeks i have found a shell replacement for this purpose, and its really good speed is almost same and looks just like vista

why? I used to hate apple too. But when it has new design and their laptop so small and cute, I switch. And now, I get use to apple and I forgot how to use HP.

hay mate, i have a question for u considering u want to go abk to XP from Vista
Do you know how good vista is compared to XP?
Do you know the enharnsements are?
Do you know what the security enharnsements are?
Did you know that Vista is nearly as good as XP is, give it another (Id say) 3 months for it to be XP quality man
Find out some more info about it and give it a chance too

I wouldn't want to be the victim, thus It would be a waste of my system specs to use OS X, there are soooooooo few games I can play.

Oh yeah, If I remember correctly, Windows got hacked in a couple of hours. Linux........ no one cared about Linux, so it was hacked in a couple of days after no one wanted to hack it.

Windows was penetrated because of a flaw in the Adobe Flash program, darn!

Wow, but why would anyone care if "Linux" was hacked if no one uses it or cares about it? I don't get that.

I was trying to say that Linux was hacked after a few days because no one bothered to hack it in the beginning of the competition.

Well, Vista is good. Do not hear what others, say, try it for yourself.

Microsoft conducted an experiment called the Mojave Experiment

The participants in the experiment were asked about their perceptions of Windows Vista (having never used it) and then were shown a ten minute demo of Microsoft's "next OS", codenamed "Mojave". After the experiment was over, it was revealed that "Mojave" was actually Windows Vista. Before the session, the average rating of Vista was 4.4 out of 10; after the session the average rating for the "Mojave" OS was 8.5 out of 10.

In 2007, Windows Vista had half the number of critical vulnerabilities than Windows XP SP2 did during the same period.

The same thing happened to XP in 2003, people refused to switch to it, until SP2 came out...

well you did made a point there Inferno.. i have also heard about the mojave experiment.. but still Vista isn't that likely to be successfull you see 5years ago the market conditions were totally opposite very few people were connected to net and computers.. I mean in Developing countries

So if XP sold 1million at times compared to 1 million for vista ... on analyzing
Xp 1 million would have been 3 millions copies sold !

But whatever it is this is not for us to debate but this thread is for those people like me who don't want to switch to vista but want the looks of it

The main problem of Vista is that it requires insane settings (at least 2GB RAM) to run OK, while we see Linux distros such as Ubuntu or OpenSuSE running OK on lower-spec PCs, even with 3D desktop effects enabled, as long as you have a good graphic card who supports these effects !

it says at least 512 MB of ram.. and recommended 1GB
I see it's great on 1GB

Get the new Windows 7. I've been using it since last year and it's awesome.

You can't do it that way. There were too many things changed when they made Vista (driver model, UI framework, etc.). The only way to convert XP to Vista is by buying Vista and then upgrading your XP to Vista. You will not lose files or programs.

Note: in case someone suggests Windows 7, it has the same problem and Windows 7 does not support an upgrade from XP. You have to install Vista first.
