Approve members application tool?
I am from MSNGroup and recently set up Forum is there a way to approve members before they are able to post please.
I notice people are not only able to join but have facility to monitor or delete a board made.
I am a complete novice never made a Forum before and wading through all very confusing for this old girl Help please

You can set activation of new accts to Admin go to >Users and groups> User Options
you will then receive email when a new acct is created and it isn't activated until you click the link that comes in the email.
unfortunately you only get their username and email address
as for regular members being able to delete anything other than their own posts (before someone else posts behind them) shouldn't happen.
that can only be done through the admin panel.
check each member to make sure they haven't been given admin status
you could make a group of regular/active members and set permissions for the forums only for that group , then when you approve someone add them to that group.
Users and groups > group admin.> select members to add to the group.
then in General configuration> forums and Categories
you would have to click on each forum and change the forum permissions for that active members group.
