After posting reverts to initial post

Absolute newbie here. Only set up forum two days ago.
Have searched topics but can't find the answer to this.

I have it set so newest post appears first - on top of page, however, as soon as a post is made and you auto-return to the particular forum you are always returned to the first page of the thread, not the current one.

Is there a way to always auto-return to the latest post please?

Well when the post is made there should be two options on your screen, One link takes you back to the main forum and the other should take you back to the last post

Thanks Craig, I think folks just wait for it to auto return which is always to first post.

Also if there are no new posts and you look at a thread it is always at message one. Is there any way to set the reverse?
