GM/Mod Complaint System Empty GM/Mod Complaint System

Post by Guest November 10th 2008, 2:03 pm

After the threats by Jalokim and Scamite in the placehold topic a quit a few members asked if there was a way to report their problems to someone beyond the GM and other mods.

As far as the working I am not to sure. I would assume that we need someone like Caihlem or Typlo to recieve these complaints.

Now I am sure the mods are going to vote no wich is understandable. The report function wont do this as the member wants to have a discussion without GM/Mod interference.

GM/Mod Complaint System Empty Re: GM/Mod Complaint System

Post by Cherry Blossom November 10th 2008, 2:08 pm

I think this is a good idea.

It would probably help with the hate mail too, I mean if we can complain and someone actually answers it will make us feel more secure and less insignificant, Then no one will send PMs to the staff member in question.

Okay now lets all try to keep things cooled down in this one, and not get off subject.

The other thread was dealt with, and locked, so lets please not continue over here as well. Thanks guys!

GM/Mod Complaint System Empty Re: GM/Mod Complaint System

Post by zinex November 10th 2008, 3:02 pm

I would actually say yes on this one just because kilsek thinks i would say no.

Only joking. I would say yes on this one, simply because from being staff before, and again just very recently, i have found there are some things i just DONT have the answers too, that only admin may know. We do have a place (in the mod bunker Razz) where we can ask admin certain things we dont know the answer too, but that can take time to get an answer, and members arent always happy to wait.

It would have to be carefully implemented i think, as the admin on this forum are very busy, and i could see members getting upset all over again if they are directly complaining and not getting quick response. AT the moment if this was in place, i think the admin would be overwhelmed with the amount there would be with the current glitches and so on.

i think it should goto someone that not the part of the moderator team here, just give them the topic or post links to where is it & tell them why you are reporting this person.

if you give them the link it will on take a few sec's to read it & then they can take the action that needed for it.

GM/Mod Complaint System Empty Re: GM/Mod Complaint System

Post by zinex November 10th 2008, 3:35 pm

i dont think its a matter of where or how, more to do with the timescale it may take for the powers that be to get round to reading/answering them. I could see it ending up with members getting impatient for a reply and it spilling back into the support forum, with the frustration of not getting a reply. How many times do we see on here, oh i pmed an admin but havent had a response, so i am posting here?

In theory yes, its an idea, in practise i just dont see it working.

If it is so important that we be PMing an Admin I am sure most on here would not mind waiting a while.

that would depend on the urgency, if its important enough to take to an admin then some may want a quick response. ultimately this idea would need an admin to look at, see if it is doable.

Yes I agree you cant complain to the Staff as they will ban us we need some one to complain to though there should be a form or some thing to fill in so there is no abuse of the system.

Post by zinex November 10th 2008, 3:53 pm

merlinz that is rubbish, no staff has banned anyone before for 'just' complaining. The ones that have been banned are ones that get abusive about it or...in the case of the member this morning...post a load of abusive and a lovely clear pornographic picture with it Razz i doubt very much the admin would do any different than the staff when it turns abusive.

Please try not to let this topic veer into another staff bashing thread...or it will have to be locked and that will be another idea wasted.

may I bring your attention to an incident that happened when a staff member (wont say name but people could figure it out) warned a member for using the report abuse button.

Drag~

but this needs admin approval, it is doable but we do not know if they will do it.

I am not aware of that issue so i cant comment, other than it is possible to abuse the report function also. I am sure an admin will look at this at some point, probably caihlem and give an opinion Smile

admin shouldn't have anything to do with this to get a fair out come it as to be someone that dont have anything to do with the support forums, even if it mean we have to lose a tech to be able to sort this out.

Would you all be willing to implement a similar function on your own forums?

Btw, I voted 'no' before you have a go at the mods lol.

I voted Yes on this suggestion. I think there needs to be a way for members to be able to report the staff to administration.

Plus, Kilsek, when someone who doesn't know me, insults me and my country, I am going to get peed off and attack back - natures way.

Scamite, please! Your last comment there was continued from another post which has been locked. Please do not bring that into this thread too.

Kilsek, come on...the hated man comment was not necessary. And lets all leave the past in the past and try to start over.

Just one more change off course/subject will result in the locking of this thread as well.
