Ex-Forumotion Staff Rank
Ex-Staff Rank
Hey guys,
My suggestion is that the Support forum has a new rank of "Ex-Forumotion Staff". It's a way to recognize those that have helped the forum in the past. Of course, the ex staff can decide whether or not they would want the rank.
I know it's not much, but it's easy to implement.

... I'm going to go about this in the most careful way so as not to provoke another admin... BUT- I wonder if there could be any- any sort of bias at all for someone to want to request this. If I understand correctly, you were scamite at one point, no? Just pointing that out. But as totally biased as it is, the idea itself is decent enough. And, as you mentioned, it would be easy to implement... Overall, that's a yes from me.
Re: Ex-Staff Rank
Voted no. I think this is not needed at all. Plus their rank can be returned in case if they come back. Rank : Ex-Forumotion Staff wont mean anything to the new members and the old members will respect them either way for what they have done in the past.
No he wasnt, lol.Fireflare88 wrote: If I understand correctly, you were scamite at one point, no?

yes he was.
But back to the point. I see ex staff getting a lot of pms asking why they arent staff.

Sorry, but I don't get what it matters, and too many titles floating around just defeats the purpose of what a forum should be. My opinion, of course. But I vote 'no'. Now if someone would suggest that we get English-speaking techs on here and set up that group, I'd vote 'yes' to that.

Remember, don't always think of yourself. Think beyond the square, and think of how others would benefit from it, not just yourself.Kyouri wrote:Sorry, but I don't get what it matters, and too many titles floating around just defeats the purpose of what a forum should be. Re: Ex-Staff Rank
I don't see how "Ex-Staff" would benefit from this really...
Either they'll be spammed "Why aren't you staff?" or Support requests by P.M, members asking how to become staff, etc...
And on the other side, it sets them apart from "normal" members, when in the facts, they are normal members.
My nightmare would be to have to moderate ex-colleagues

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
Like I said, the ex-staff can choose whether or not they would want to have it. If they get bombarded with spam PM's, they can report them as harassment, and flooding.
It's just a way to recognize the ex-staff.

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
I have to say, this has been brought up before and then put down by Caihlem. Some staff have been asked to leave (Can't remember who ) So, i have to say no...

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
If it had already been suggested before and refused, why didn't Caihlem lock it before?Tilum wrote:I have to say, this has been brought up before and then put down by Caihlem. Some staff have been asked to leave (Can't remember who ) So, i have to say no...
"Some staff" are still ex-staff regardless. They still deserve the recognition of their time as staff, whether asked to leave or left themselves.

I know that this is 2009 now and im gonna speak of the past but remember when you Daijiro came to staff you get 'cocky' with everyone becuase you were in a higher possition would'nt that happen again with a rank that says ex-staff. And to be onest you and cornelia are the only ex-staff that are on the forum.
I voted NO

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
I never got "cocky" with everyone. I had the power to issue warnings and reminders - so I did where appropriate, and even today, I still find posts where reminders/warnings should be issued, but can't because there is no staff online. If you call that getting "cocky" then you need to have your dictionary checked.beno wrote:I know that this is 2009 now and im gonna speak of the past but remember when you Daijiro came to staff you get 'cocky' with everyone becuase you were in a higher possition would'nt that happen again with a rank that says ex-staff. And, no myself and Cornelia are not the only ex-staff on the forum. There are a ton of ex-staff, you just need to know who they are.

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
A ton isn't the appropriate word I would have used, but it is true that they are not the only ex-staff members.
But to be quite honest, they are the only active ones and I know one of them who wouldn't want the rank - hence my vote

As said above.
Rank just tells people they where staff on this forum. Nothing else to see.

That's the point. The rank will tell others they were / are staff.MrMario wrote:Rank just tells people they where staff on this forum. Nothing else to see.

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
I know its pointless. We all can know who was on staff by going to the staff list.

But not that many people know where that thread is. I can bet a lot of people don't even know it existed.

Thats not vary polite is it?
I saw that link, and visit it every 2 months, incase anything happens. (and its obvious to me too)
I too have "blonde moment;s" and "blind moment's" and accept it, but because I "rarely miss something" just like urself, these smaller things are quite obvious,
As for voting for an "ex-staff" rank and group, i am going to give pro's and cons and am NOT voting as I still have not made my mind up.
Pro,
The member(s) will be recognized
Con,
The member(s) will most likely receive unwanted PM's to their box (IE: support requests, graphic requests, questions on why they are no-longer staff ect.)
The member(s) may not want to be included in the rank/group
I can come up with many many more "Cons" but im not going to.
Now i have said what i have wanted to (regarding this thread) I am still thinking, and most likely voting no, but am not just yet because im undecided.

Re: Ex-Staff Rank
Really, you've only got one pro and one con, because I have said that they can choose if they want the rank or not. They don't HAVE to have it.
