When I ban someone it does not stay like that...

When i ban and ip/email address and log in the next day it has no ban data... like i never banned anyone the day before. Shocked

I really need help on this as i need to make sure a few people stay banned as they are real trouble makers but for some reason the ban section in my admin area resets itself constantly.

This is a known problem and there is an "only topic" relating to it.
