Question about credits for gallery & domains

I have a question about credits. If I purchase credits and get say 500mb storage for my gallery, are these credits only good for one month? Or is this 500mb good till filled then you buy more. How does this work exactly?

Another question about domains and credits. What would be the purpose of purchasing a domain? Can't I just use the web address to the forum that I received for free?

Are there any other things that are useful to use credits for?

Thanks I read that information just did not understand if it was for one month or not.

One other thing maybe you can help me with. I made a gallery and uploaded pictures there and on my free forum from my computer with the links provided. Yet I read elsewhere that I have to have my pictures hosted. So does this mean they only work because I am looking at them? I thought the credits and free 10mb were for picture hosting. Can you please explain why it says we have to have a host. Thanks
