How can you make post totals show up in categories

I'm not sure if the subject describes it well lol

What i am after is i have made the categories (main categories) show up in my forum here:: http://scrapaddict.forum.st
as a guest i would like that all the posts under that category from the subs to show in the category. Does that makes sense? LOL... see how all the categories are showing mostly zeros when in actual fact they ALL have at lest 100 posts.

Can i change that somewhere or not?

I know the answer to this question...

Goto the Display tab, Homepage - Structure and hierarchy, and then choose how you want the category to be split.

I tried that but none of those options change the post count when viewing as a guest.

Is there a code or another way to leave the structure the same but just show the post count for a category for guests? I'm sure there would be ? i hope lol

I worked it out... i had to make the permissions on each sub as viewable by guests so they all showed up to guests but can't be read... not exactly how i wanted it but still works
