User Statuses Empty User Statuses

I was wondering if there's any way to implement user statuses on a forum for a video game. It would just be "seeking match", "away", "available", etc., maybe with further options to show exactly what a match-seeker is looking for. Does anyone know if this is possible in any form (part of a chatbox, built in to the forum, a separate page, etc.)
