I edit this post to add an indication.

When you give your e-mail address in your post, I recommand you to modify it to make it impossible for a bot (the e-mail address collector ones) to read your address, then it will prevent you from receiving many spam mail. There is two ways to do :

1- Replace the @ by AT
For example : miaw22 AT hotmail.com (fake address)

2- Write your address on a picture with Paint (Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint) and then insert it in your post with the "Insert an image" button. Bots can't read anything written on a picture.

So, don't be surprised if I edit your post to modify an e-mail address. I already edited the three posts where there are e-mail address.

Well, not ALL, but probably more than you want to know. I'm an almost 59 year old woman, a medically retired registered nurse, embarking on a new career. My new career? Photography. Thanks to an absolutely wonderful Vocational Rehabilitation counselor I have a brand new power wheelchair that will take me virtually anywhere and enough photography equpment and supplies to actually get this up and running and make a success of it.

One of the things I do is marching band performance pics and performance video, and I want to set up a website with the capability to not only show and sell my pics an videos, but also for the band kids to have a forum where they can come and be safe while they discuss performances, music, their instruments, and so forth. In their registration I would require that they give their full name, school name, and band director's name only so that I can verify that they are who they say they are if there is a problem. They don't have to use their real name as their username. I just want to keep the predators at bay and to safeguard the kids as they use the site. Will this require parental consent, and if it does, how can this be handled through your forums? Can both functions even be handled on the same forum or do I need separate ones for each project?

Also, in the pages where I am listing performance pics, is there some way to disable the right-click function so that, along with watermarking I have some mechanism in place to prevent their just stealing the pics straight from the page? Is it possible to set up a secure shopping cart in the forum as well, so that I can take paypal or credit card payments through paypal?

Are there any of you mods who have enough patience to hold an old woman's hand in a few rough spots that
I'm more than sure that we will encounter? I'm reasonably computer literate despite my age, but setting up a complete website is going to be an entirely new adventure for me! Also, is it okay to register my domain with one of the registrars and then bring it there? I'd really like to completely own my own domain name.
