How to make a welcome box

Ok so I am still new to this forummotion stuff and on my old site I had this think called a welcome box. its a script that is able to show stats and what not. Please I really would like an answer on how to do this. A picture of the welcome box is below:

You put it where it was when you had it last time Wink

Where ever you want to put it. I also fixed up the coding a bit, there were area where the closing tags where not finished right and where overlapped by others Smile

I tried putting it in the portal area thingy but all it shows is the code (last time I had this code was on an invisionfree board)
