Ok in my portal page the NEWS widget is set to my Announcement forum. What I want to do is also put a NEWS widget that is set to my Events forum but this one will display in my main forum directory. One is in portal and one is in forum main and both has a different set of forum sub to show.

Ok so you mean you want a post to be on the portal page (an announcement) but it's not in the news forum, it's in another forum?

Or do you mean you want announcements on your portal page?

Oh! I was just doing this today myself Smile When you open your Admin Panel, go to Widgets, and the "Portal management" is the portal on the portal page. Now then, to add a NEWS on your main forum directory, go to "Forum Widget Management" and this will put widgets on your Home page.

    Hope this helped ^^

EDIT: To change what the "News" displays, click the modify button on the NEWS widget when you're saving it in and you can switch what it displays, (meaning; from announcements to events).

Uhm okay. http://redemption-wow.forum.st I took off the forum-widget management, but still have the portal 'news' management. the FORUM widget News box is for the "home" page and the portal is a separate page (called portal, obviously)

I am amazing, that's how. I am such a perfectionist that I learn every single option in the AdminPanel. but this is off topic now.

I already tried that in my portal I set it up like you said widget management and I point it in the "Announcement forum" but when I put another news in my forum index it also displays the
content of "Announcement forum" if I try to edit the NEWS widget to the forum index the NEWS widget
gets affected to the portal. Once you edit one NEWS both will always be affected.

The question is, is there a way that only 1 NEWS widget gets affected and not both.
