I would like to add a news feed to my portal tab, but since i'm not experienced with any of this, is there anyone that can help me out???

You are talking about an rss feed, there are loads of ways of making them, but every new feed you make, you'd have to put in the rss file manually. To put it on the portal, you just put a link into it ^^
