Posts Disappearing/Post Count Inaccurate?

Lately I've noticed that at one point, my forum will have 8440 posts. But minutes later it goes down to 8433. I've made sure no one is deleting posts, and I've checked all moderator actions. There isn't anything telling me how this is happening. Is it possible that my forum has a virus? Or maybe the post counter is just being very inaccurate. The other day according to it I lost about 40 posts. So please, if you have any idea of what's going on, share it.
