well whenever i see in someone of the staff their flash signature everyrthnig lags out as i think its bad idea

My internet slows too with them.

Same thing here. I like them, but they take too long for my page to load when I'm trying to do something on this support forum.

Ah, well then that would explain why sometimes my internet looses connection...

Perhaps a small size animated pic file is ok, or using 16-color file only.

The page crashes when there's too many of them on one page. Especially Rika's, Nessa's and Beno's!

They lagg our loading times by something like 1 whole minute!! (aprox on my speed)
too much animation / flash
It crashes browsers (especually mine, and is leaving an after affect, and I just updated my Fire Fox to version 3.0.9 about 7 hours ago!)
Sanket's isnt white, or transparent (Sorry, couldn't resist it)
Caihlem doesn't have one

Voting yes, because it slows down my internet down, and, staff can easily have a navigation menu in their sugnature's without putting flash in it.

Do you have a better idea to give us then just removing them?

Well ive started to use them on my forum. but it is limited to Only my admins and site admins. While we do not permit other staffers to have flash in their sigs. I think it is visually pleasing but i have created the sigs for them myself and i adjust the size, I use 580x200 for the carosel sigs and 550x200 for the other kinds. I only wish there was a way to remove the branding on them without buying the full version (if someone knows how to do this PM me)

But yes I think its a good idea but it needs to be regulated due to the bandwidth issues.

Maybe start to allow normal users to use their own sigs. I wonder... why we can't have sigs too?

In other hand, I'm using Opera and those flash sigs haven't lagged me recently.
As well as I know, Opera get rid with annoying flash scripts so maybe u must only work on the code?

It is true that I stared this. I created my signature since I thought it would help out members to visit other sections of the forum more easily and have access to links in a more "attractive" way thus making them access them more often(or at least hoping).Indeed I didn't think of the bandwidth issue and I apologies to all the members that are having problems because of this. Since I stared this it would have seemed fair if I removed my flash signature first as well. Other staff members have beaten me to it though since they removed there flash signatures so I can't be the first one to remove it.Of course this isn't important though.Therefore I removed my signature as well.

As for the members having userbars or signatures of any kind on this forum: This has been discussed several times and it has always been rejected because a lot of the members will just add links to there forums in the signatures and/or other spam messages.They would also add unneeded images. This will in turn increase the loading time on the pages and also increase the posts for no real reason.

well it would be nice for the staff to continue using the sigs... but if they really do cause problems then we need an alternative.

although , all posts in the staff room are by staff, and many have the sig, I haven't lagged once...
but yeah...

I could develop a css version, that can do something similar, but html is disabled on the forum due to security reasons. But I do have an idea anyway. ...

For me I have no personal problem with them nor computer related problems related to them. Plus I am used to those things anyway.
